How much does it cost to post an opportunity?
It doesn’t cost you anything to post an opportunity, but we charge a fee and reward “contingent” (ie dependent) upon successful placement. However, we need to be assured that you are serious about the opportunity and appointment and so we need you to sign our terms & conditions before we will make your opportunity “live”. We and our referrers / candidates need to know that there is a definite requirement and a desire to make an appointment. Please make sure that you refer to the terms and conditions for a full understanding.
What about the costs upon successful placement?
Upon successful placement the employer is liable to pay costs made up of two elements: a fixed fee to Prefio of £2,500 and a reward to the successful referrer which is a minimum of £2,500 - so normally a total fixed fee of £5,000. In the setup of a vacancy advertisement the employer has the ability to increase the reward element to any level as long as it is above the minimum £2,500 level.
Can referrers in our company make referrals to others in our company?
We thought long and hard about this and the simple answer is yes…but. The “but” is although we want to incentivise referrers to take action and be proactive we don’t want to encourage referrers to act unethically or to breach any terms of their employment contract. We take the view that the individual referrer is best placed to make these decisions – it is not something that we can police. We have talked this through with several clients and reached the conclusion that:
- It is actually to the benefit of employers using Prefio that our system allows the possibility of such referrals
- Because of the large number of referrers that Prefio uses and they are in a wide variety of organisations – the chances of one of your employees being the successful referrer to one of your other employees are vanishingly small.
- We are happy to share our detailed analysis of this with any concerned employers. In essence it is better for employers to be inside the tent using Prefio rather than outside losing your best staff through Prefio referrals!
Can I post a "blind" advert (ie not identifying our name)?
Yes. We understand that this is sometimes necessary but we would ask you to bear in mind that normally naming yourself as the client will improve the quality and quantity of response because people are taking less of a “shot in the dark”. If you place a “blind” advert we at Prefio will need to manually filter all applications to make sure that candidate details are not being forwarded to companies that they would not want them forwarded to.
Can I see the extent of referrers participating in the Prefio system?
Yes. We ask referrers to specify the areas in which they have contacts and also ask them to provide a few words or a CV to substantiate their “referring credentials”. You can see in the header of most pages a live update of the number of referrers, by specialism, that are currently signed up to Prefio. You select the areas that it would be appropriate for referrers to have expertise when you create a vacancy
There are some "knockout" questions that I need all candidates to address - how can your system help with this?
When you create a vacancy one of the final parts is that you can specify up to three “knockout questions” – questions that the candidate must answer “Yes” in order to be able to proceed with their application. We strongly suggest that you only include really important “knockout” questions here maybe such as “Do you have the right to live and work in the UK?”. Our system remembers candidate’s answers and will not allow a candidate to change their answer in say a second application attempt – so we make it clear to candidates that they must exercise care.
How do I receive candidate details?
Candidate details are sent to your registered email address with some basic details in the body of the email and the candidate’s CV as an attached pdf (Adode Acrobat) file.
- If you place the advertisent “blind” (not revealing your company name) then we need to manually confirm that your organisation is not amongst those that the candidate indicated they did not want details sent to.
- If you ticked the box asking Prefio to act as a course filter then we will review all candidates (desktop sift only not interviews) and only pass on to you those that appear most suitable from the infortamion that you provided to us.
- If you indicated that you have an internal recruitment management system and cannot accept candidate details by email then we will need to speak about us manually transferring candidate details onto your syste.
- If none of the above apply then you get to see candidate details just seconds after then submit them to our website.
What about a guarantee period?
There is a 90 day (3 month) guarantee. There are two distinct elements to the costs that are payable upon successful placement:
- A fixed fee to Prefio
- A reward payment that we pass on in full to the successful referrer
These costs are both payable immediately upon placement. The fixed fee to Prefio is not refundable. The reward payment is not paid to the referrer until 90 days following placement, if during that period the candidate leaves your employment (other than due to redundancy) then we refund the reward payment to you.
